HoT Walk 2019, Athens
The Heart Failure Association of the European Cardiology Society, in collaboration with the Hellenic Cardiology Society organized yesterday afternoon, Monday 27th, 2019 this year’s very successful HoT Walk 2019, in Athens.
This action, open to the general public aimed at the promotion of the healthy results of simply walking, not only to the patients suffering from heart failure but to the general population as well, and it is organized on the occasion of the European Congress of Heart Failure which took place in Athens from 25 to 28 May 2019.
Almost 500 Delegates of the Congress, as well as Athenian citizens, walked through some of the most historic and beautiful areas in the world, combining the benefits of walking for the heart and the soul that the famous Ancient Greek antiquities and the tranquil surrounding area provide to each visitor through the ages.
The walk of 3,5 km took place along Dionysiou Areopagitou Street, the pedestrianized street, adjacent to the south slope of the Acropolis of Athens. The participants walked pleasantly from Amalias Avenue near the Arch of Hadrian to Apostolou Pavlou Street, the rest of the pedestrian zone which goes around the archaeological site of the Acropolis and the Ancient and Roman Agora.
The action was under the auspices of the City of Athens and if we judge by the faces of the walkers, the Hot Walk 2019, was helpful, educational and fun. After all, we are all convinced that “Walking, is a medicine, with no side effects, that can save lives”.
